Our mission is to promote awareness and provide support for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease.
Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that affects millions of people across the world. FOD Foundation strives to educate the public about the disease and provide resources for those affected.
Our story
“Even though Funmi is no longer with us physically, her courage and strength continue to inspire us every day.”
FOD Foundation is a registered non-profit organization established to honor the memory of Funmilayo Olanike Danesi who died on Saturday afternoon, 13 August 2022 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The overarching purpose is to fight against sickle cell disease on a global stage by ensuring that individuals and families affected by this disease receive the care, support, and resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
What We Do

Advocacy and Education
We provide educational resources on sickle cell and advocate for policy changes to improve treatment and care options for those living with sickle cell disease.

Health and Welfare
Caring for identified sickle cell patients as resources permit, through payment of hospital bills, medication, and basic needs.

Events
We host and sponsor events to bring together the sickle cell community and share resources and information.
Get Involved
To substantively support the people living with Sickle Cell Disease, we need your support through voluntary works, financial resources and material assistance.

In Loving Memory of Funmi - A Sickle Cell Warrior who went over the rainbow bridge on 13 August 2022. Her fight for the welfare of people living with Sickle Cell Disease continues with this Foundation.
